God needs no “plan B”

Posted on

God has always only ever had one plan to save His people. From before time began, God’s plan has always been to send His only Son to die a painful and shameful death on the cross in our place. No matter our race, nationality, or period of history, all who put their trust in what Jesus did and give themselves to Him will be saved.  The Old Testament points every believer forward to the cross, just as the rest of the New Testament after the Gospels point us back to the cross. In this way, the cross is the center, […]

Posted on

How do you feel when you hear the phrase “the world is coming to an end?” Afraid? Excited? Cynical? Some combination of the above? Different people have many different responses to the concept of the world’s end. This week we’re going to tackle these responses in part two of our study of Luke 21, called “The End is Near.” On Sunday we’ll look at the certainty of the world’s end.  We’ll also talk a bit more about the timing, and how we should respond while we’re waiting for the world to end. If you are ready, how are you living in light of the end of the world? On Sunday we’ll start a two-part series called “The End is Near.” We’ll break Luke 21 up into two parts and look at the signs of the end of the world as well as how to live in light of the end of the world. I hope you’ll join […]

Taking “DTR” to a “whol’nother” level

“DTR” Depending on your perspective, those three letters might evoke joy or heartache. Good memories or bad. Or both! What does “DTR” stand for? “Determine The Relationship.” It means having a conversation with another person in order to decide whether or how to continue the relationship. “DTR” is usually used in a romantic context. Moving from casual dating to something more serious (or not). Or maybe from more serious towards a proposal (or not).  “DTRs” are never bad things. We might not like the outcome of them sometimes, but in the long run, they are almost always for the best. […]
