Are you sure you want to print this?

Posted on

Sometimes when I’m trying to print, I get this message:  “Your margins are too narrow. You might not be able to see all your content. Are you sure you want to print this?”  Most of the time I risk it anyway. The problem is, I often do this with life, too! This Sunday we’ll wrap up a three-part series called: “Keep It Simple…Saint!” In part one we looked at priorities. Last week we looked at boundaries. This week we’re going to look at one more factor that will help us “KISS.”  Margin seems like one of those buzzwords that periodically makes […]

So much to do, so little time!

Posted on

“I just wish I had more on my to do list…” said almost none of us! Ever! “I just love telling people ‘No’ all the time…” said almost none of us! Life can be so complex and messy. So much to do, so little time! What’s a follower of Jesus to do? We’re in the midst of a three-part series called “Keep It Simple…Saint!” Last week we talked about priorities. I asked you about how you spend your time and your money, and how that helps you identify your priorities. These are hard questions without easy answers. We also saw that Jesus […]

Navigating “essential” and “optional”

Posted on

This pandemic is forcing us all to take a good, hard, look at our lives. We’re all trying to understand what is “essential,” and what is “optional” right now. And if we’re honest, this has been easier for some than for others! Last fall, before any of us had a hint of what our 2020 would be like, I started asking God what we should address after we finished Luke. I believe the three-part series we’ll start this coming Sunday is both an answer to that prayer and a response to the “essential vs optional” question that most of us […]

Has Jesus changed your life?

Posted on

If you use Facebook, yesterday you might have seen me briefly share my story about how Jesus changed my life. You can look for both English and Mandarin on the church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/tcbcf/ These testimonies are part of a challenge for Christians across the US and the world to flood social media this week with stories about how Jesus has saved and changed us. If you want to join in, you can make a brief video and then add the hashtag #Jesuschangedmylife when you share your story online. The whole world needs to hear about how Jesus has saved […]

“Shalom, y’all!”

If you watch the news or look around, it seems pretty clear that our world is faced with a severe shortage of peace right now. Now that we’re officially locked down here in Tucson, we’ll probably see even more people struggle with this dis-ease.  Hopefully staying at home will help slow the spread of coronavirus. But just staying at home will never cure hearts not resting in Jesus! So what do we do? We turn back to God’s Word, the Bible. As we finish studying the gospel of Luke this Sunday, we will see Jesus offer peace to His followers […]
