Live stream only at TCBC until August 2nd

Posted on

Hi everyone, In light of spiking Coronavirus cases in Arizona and Governor Ducey’s new restrictions today, we have decided to suspend in person worship at TCBC for the month of July. So, please stay home on Sundays in July and watch the live stream! Additionally, one of our church members recently tested positive for Covid-19. This person is recovering at home without serious complications, and we have just notified those who might have potentially been exposed while at church with them on June 21st.  For now we’re continuing to work towards keeping everyone as healthy as we can.  How are you […]

Ironic freedom, and more news about Sunday

Posted on

Nobody saw any of this coming. Nobody but Jesus.  Our original plan was for June 28th to be our “Grand regathering.” All together onsite for Sunday school, worship, and a business meeting.  And yet, due to circumstances beyond our control, it is in all of our best interest to have a “virtual only” service this week. Nothing in person at the church. Everything online.  Let me clearly say that at this point none of our church members or regular guests have tested positive for Covid-19. But we do have some people with fevers. So we’re going to err on the side of caution this week, […]

Important! Service changes for tomorrow

Posted on

Hi everyone, Remember our favorite Chinese saying: “Plans can’t keep up with changes”?Well we need to do some last minute changes for tomorrow. Timothy has been running a fever, so we think it is in everyone’s best interest that I preach both sermons from home tomorrow, just in case. We will still have the praise team on site to lead socially distant worship for each service, and then switch to live streaming me on screen in the sanctuary for those that attend live. If all of this sounds too confusing, your other option is to watch multiple live streams from […]

Father’s Day Faith

Posted on

The good news is that we’re more than halfway through June now. 2020 is more than half over! The bad news is, all of us are probably wondering, “what in the world will happen next?” We were probably all looking forward to a Father’s Day luncheon this year. We really thought, “surely everything will be back to normal by then!” But as our favorite Chinese saying reminds us, though, “plans can’t keep up with changes!”(计划没有变化快!) This Sunday we’ll celebrate Father’s Day by looking at a familiar story from the Old Testament. We’re going to see a father put to the ultimate test. By God’s […]

June update from the church council

Posted on

Greetings everyone,I wanted to write a note and update y’all on several decisions the church council made today. Thanks in advance for carefully reading this long update! 1. “Regathering” Postponed until August 2nd As we’ve mentioned before, we take your feedback and your safety very seriously. Based on that feedback from many members, and the recent spike of Covid cases in Arizona, out of an abundance of caution we are going to postpone our “Regathering” date from Sunday, June 28th until Sunday, August 2nd. That Sunday will be a unity service with English and Mandarin and the Lord’s Supper. We will plan […]

I just wanna be a sheep

Posted on

There’s an old children’s song that I’ve mentioned before that is stuck in my head once again this week: I just wanna be a sheep Bah bah bah bah I just wanna be a sheep Bah bah bah bah Because His love is deep I just wanna be a sheep What a strange song! Who in the world would want to be a sheep? They’re helpless. They not too bright. And they would melt in our Tucson summer. Why would anyone want to be a sheep? The song tells us why: “Because His love is deep!” This Sunday we’re going […]

Revelation

Posted on

There’s a funny meme making its way through the internet. A woman is looking in a certain direction. And the caption states:  “Me looking outside to see which chapter of Revelation we’re on today.” Maybe you feel that way too? Like we’re neck-deep in the end times? If so, believer, remember what we saw as we studied Luke: “Straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near (21:28).” This Sunday as we look at Psalm 19, we’re going to look at a couple of different revelations. We’ll see how our loving God communicates to every person on […]
