New Year’s Adam

Posted on

Today is “New Year’s Adam.” The day before New Year’s Eve. Last Sunday I asked you to consider some goals and changes for the new year. How’s that going? There’s still time to consider and pursue the changes God is calling you to make for this new year! Let me know if you’d like some help narrowing down your choices! As we kick off a new year, we’re also going to kick off a new sermon series too. I’ll tell you more on Sunday, but for now, I’d encourage you to take some time and read Genesis 1-3 and Romans […]

Whether you’re gathering in person or having a Zoom Christmas, I hope that you’ll be able to enjoy the day.  Then I also hope you’ll join us for worship on Sunday. Christmas Freedom and Peace

We worked our way through 1 Peter over the course of the fall. We talked about preparing to live as elect exiles in a hostile world. The first verse of an old Christmas carol helps answer that question: O come, O come Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until […]

Let every heart, prepare Him room!

Life always seems busier before Christmas, doesn’t it? Even in the midst of Covid-19 limitations, there seems like so much extra to do. Decorating, gift buying, parties, and other special events can creep into our schedules and overwhelm us. But it seems like every year we fall for it once again. Even when Covid-19 restrictions limit our in-person gatherings! So I want to ask today: Where is Jesus? What place does He have in your life and your Christmas schedule today? Is there room in your “Inn” for Him amongst all the other holiday “travelers” in your life? Let this […]

A good dose of Christmas, (and this week’s sermon outline)

Posted on

Good news! We only have one month left in 2020! It has been some kind of year. But I’m glad that we’re nearing the end. It seems to me like we all need a good dose of Christmas. Not just extra food, or presents, or lots of parties. It looks like we can’t do many of those things anyway. What we need is a fresh dose of the deeper truth behind all the trappings. We need the hope, joy, freedom, and peace that only the Christ of Christmas can bring.  That’s the plan that we’ll pursue during four sermons over […]
