Evidence that demands a decision

Posted on

Holy Week is upon us once again. The week that we focus even more on the Lord Jesus’ death for our sins and resurrection on Easter morning.  But what evidence do we have for this celebration? On Sunday we’ll look at 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, and we’ll examine clear evidence that demands a decision.  Please join us in person on Sunday at 7:00AM for our combined English and Chinese Sunrise Service with communion! If you can’t make it in person, you can still join us online by going through our website: www.tcbcf.org then hit “watch livestream.”  We’ll follow our sunrise service time with a special combined […]

Fascination with royalty

Posted on

We seem to have a fascination with royalty. A recent interview with part of the British royal family sent that family and the rest of the world into a tizzy. (That’s a good Southern word by the way.) Wedding ceremonies for members of that same family were some of the most watched weddings ever. We seem to take royalty seriously. Or do we? This Sunday we’ll be celebrating Palm Sunday once again. We’ll see the nation of Israel going through the motions of welcoming a king into Jerusalem. But we’ll also see that they missed the bigger picture. They had […]

Grace on the run

Posted on

Many of us (but not all) have never had to literally run for our lives. We haven’t faced a situation that called for it. Most of us have pretty routine, day to day lives. Hiding in the baggage

All of us have baggage. Things from our past that weigh us down and keep us from living in the freedom Christ offers. Maybe it’s guilt or shame connected to sin. Or it could be fear. Fearing people, our past, or our future. But the longer we carry it, the heavier the bags seem to get. We do all kinds of things to cope with this baggage. This is another way that Lent helps us. As we set aside some of our crutches and the things that we often run to for comfort, we begin to see the Lord more […]

Hearing aids

Posted on

We’re in the middle of the third week of Lent. This whole season is designed to help us turn away from all the “extras” and focus more fully on the Lord. How has that been happening in your life over the last few weeks? It has been hard for me. It is so easy sometimes to focus on what I’m temporarily giving up. But that’s not the point. The point is to draw near to the Lord and hear His voice more clearly. In this way, a temporary fast during this season serves as a type of “hearing aid” for us, so […]
