Christmas is just one week away! Can you believe it? It is easy to think about baby Jesus during this time of year. Unfortunately, that’s where many people leave Him—a helpless baby. Powerless to do anything in their lives.
Last week as we studied the triumphal entry, we took a closer look at who Jesus is: prophet, priest and king. We saw all creation worship Him as King. And we saw Him as the final and best prophet from God as well as our great high priest.
As we look at another part of the Christmas story this week from Matthew, we will see that Jesus was prophet, priest, and king even from birth. The gifts that He received will reinforce this idea!
We’ll also look at the givers of these gifts, and what it cost them to give. Hopefully a fresh look at their example will motivate us again too! When I think about these guys, I’m compelled to ask:
“What is the biggest sacrifice you’ve ever made for something or someone you love? Was it worth it?”
As you think about the answer to those questions, I want to ask you one more:
How far will you go to worship Jesus?
That’s what we’ll talk about during our 11AM combined service this Sunday.
See you then!
And if I won’t see you then, have a Merry Christmas!
