That settles it

There’s an old saying that goes something like this: “God says it. I believe it. That settles it.” I appreciate the idea behind this statement. But I disagree with it! I would like to tweak it a bit to say:  “Whether you or I believe it or not, God says it, and that settles it.” The truth of God’s Word does not depend on whether or not enough people believe it. It is “settled,” whether we like it, believe it, or not! Even so, we sure hope that more and more people will believe it and respond…starting with us!  This […]

What a mess!

What a mess! Last week in Psalm 1 we saw that the living water we need for life comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that spring is fed by meditating on His Word like a dog chewing on a bone. Mid-week greetings! Last Sunday we began looking at what it means to be a spiritually healthy individual in a spiritually healthy church, and we saw that God’s plan builds on four foundations: The Word, Worship, Prayer, and Fellowship.
