Clean up your room!

If you’ve got younger kids, especially younger kids that are “messies,” you’ve told them to “clean up your room” more than once. I used to threaten my kids that I was going to come into their room with a trash bag and help them clean up. That usually got them moving!  Maybe you don’t have kids yet. But maybe you’re the one that heard a parent tell you to clean up your room growing up too! Coasting

“It’s all downhill from here!” If you’ve been peddling a bicycle uphill for a long time, those are welcome words to hear. It is so much more fun to coast, isn’t it? While that’s great for bike rides, coasting can be dangerous in life. If we think we’ve “arrived,” and don’t need to grow any more we can get into this kind of coasting lifestyle. Was it worth it?

Life is hard. Sometimes it is harder than others. Whenever we suffer setbacks or opposition, it becomes easy to question the value of our efforts. Usually if we’ll keep at it, we’ll be able to look back and see that the hard work pays off.   I remember a season of struggle when I was trying to finish seminary.
