“Vacation’s where you go somewhere, and don’t ever come back.”—Forrest Gump’s mama

Vacations are usually wonderful. But even the best vacations have to end. Before my family and I left for vacation I asked my Facebook friends which was worse, the week before vacation or the week after. Everyone said, “the week after,” but I disagreed. In many ways I still do. Sure, getting back into routines is difficult, but there is something to be said for waking up in your own bed and getting back to work after a period of rest. I think Mrs. Gump had it all wrong. I’m glad to be back and back into the swing of things this week!

Maybe I’m excited because of all we have to look forward to in the days to come. This Friday night at 7 we’ll continue talking about what God has next for us as a church. Have you been praying about what part God has specifically for you? Keep asking Him, because I’m sure He’ll answer that prayer. Let’s talk more about it on Friday!

Saturday afternoon at 4 we’ll continue another tradition with our “Welcome Back Barbeque.” This is a great opportunity to reconnect with one another and also invite friends to come hang out with us. Of course, we’re all looking forward to the great food too! Who can you bring to the party?

On Sunday we’re also starting a new series for the fall. I’m so excited about this series I’m about to bust at the seams! I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I will say that what we’re studying this fall is absolutely life-changing for us personally, as a church, and for our world. How’s that for a cliff-hanger? Want to find out what all my fuss is about? See you Sunday!

Have a great week!
