Life is hard. Sometimes it is harder than others. Whenever we suffer setbacks or opposition, it becomes easy to question the value of our efforts. Usually if we’ll keep at it, we’ll be able to look back and see that the hard work pays off.
I remember a season of struggle when I was trying to finish seminary. I had to read about 1000 pages per week and write many papers. And since I was also working full time to try and keep our support costs down, I had to get up no later than 4:30 every morning and put in the study time before Lisa and Andrew got up and I had to go to work. After I got my degree, someone asked me, “Was it worth it?” Yes. Yes it was!
But sometimes we face the opposite problem. Sometimes we make bad choices. Like staying up too late playing video games or watching Netflix well past midnight. Those choices sure make it hard to get up the next morning. After those kinds of nights, we’d also do well to ask ourselves “Was it worth it?”
This coming Sunday we’ll see that our next church faced the question “was it worth it?” in their lives too. The Lord’s instruction to them will be helpful for us too!
Please join us in person on Sunday at 9:30 for the combined service with communion. A combined Sunday school time will follow! If you can’t make it in person, you can still join us online by going through our website: www.tcbcf.org then hit “watch livestream,” or go directly to our Youtube page.
Speaking of getting together, we will be getting together this Friday night at 6:30 in mid-town at Bob and Olivia’s, or northside at Ted and Queena’s. Let me know if you need addresses!
Until we meet again, by God’s grace, may you count the cost, and find following Jesus to be worth it!
