“Who do you think you are?”

Happy New Year!

I hope you’re either still enjoying some vacation time or surviving your first day back at work today. It can be hard to get back into the swing of things!

Last Sunday morning we rolled out the new vision statement for our church. All you have to remember is “TCBC2”:

“Teaching Christ, Becoming Christlike”

“Taking Christ Beyond Church”

If you were traveling and missed last week, you can listen to the message here: https://tcbcf.org/the-churchs-vision-for-2020-and-beyond/

This week we’re getting back into our study on the Gospel of Luke. And in Chapter 20 we’ll look at part one of a showdown in the temple between Jesus and the religious leaders of His day.

We’ll be able to learn a lot from Jesus on how to “Take Christ Beyond Church” this week! You see, these religious leaders had the same attitude that many in our world have toward Jesus today:

“Who do you think you are?”

“What gives you the right to tell me how to live my life?”

Of course, as the Lord of the Universe, Jesus has every right to tell each one of us how to live. But it is interesting to see how He responded to these challenges to His authority.

My hope is that through the message on Sunday we can all learn from Jesus, becoming more like Him in our responses, and get on with engaging the world around us with His gospel.

I hope we’ll see you Sunday at 9:30 for English or 11 for Chinese!

Until then, “TCBC2
